Product Review-Garmin Foot Pod

A little while back I purchased the Garmin Foot Pod. I am training for the Disney Marathon and will be doing indoor running durning the winter months. So far, so good. I found that it calibrated nice (I used GPS to calib. it). I have found the distance & speed readings to be pretty accurate (treadmill speeds are way off). I didn't have easy access to a IAAF/USATF certified track. Garmin says the most accurate way to calibrate the Pod is one 400m lap on a track. I don't need to be that precise. I wore the Pod for a certified half marathon and the reading was very close (less than .01 of a mile difference).

Overal I am very happy with the Foot Pod and it make tracking all my data on indoor treadmill runs easy.

Product Review-Wireless Headphones

Plantronics BackBeat Fit Bluetooth Headphones

So, I have been trying different pairs of wireless headphones most of the summer. On my 3rd pair of found one that has worked great. The bluetooth connects easy and has fantastic range. Sound quality is good. You can receive and make calls, although it is a little hard for people to hear you. This was not so important to me, as I didn't plan on making a bunch of calls on my runs, but I can get the call from home, if need be. The battery life has been excellent.  I love the fact that you can pause music and skip to the next song. Overal, if you are looking for a good pair of wireless headphones I don't think you can go wrong with these.

Graniteman Big Lake Results

Bryan's results at Graniteman Big Lake Aug 8th, 2015

I finished 62 overal out of 300 athletes. I finished 9th in my age group! This is my best age group finish to date.

Swim Time (.33mi): 13:56 pace 2:24per/100yd
Bike Time (15mi): 44:14 pace 19.6mph
Run Time (3.1mi): 22:53 pace 7:23

Overal Time: 1:23:34

Terrible swim. Had a little swim panic attack for reasons unknown. Bike time was average and had my best run of the year.

Graniteman Clearwater Results

Bryan's results from the Clearwater Sprint Tri on July 11th, 2015

Finished 64 overal out of 254 athletes. I finished 11th in my age group!

Swim Time (.44mi): 13:44 pace 1:47 per/100yd
Bike Time (14.33mi): 43:55 pace 19.6mph
Run Time (3.1mi): 25:19 pace 8:10

Overal Time: 1:26:11

Good race. Point to point swim, which is nice. If you run this race, bring a par of flip flops to wear for the walk over to the swim start (you will get them back). Most of the run course is on a trail. It's nice, I just wasn't expecting it.

Graniteman Buffalo Results

Was a good race! I set a PR with a finish time of 1:17:47. It was a hilly/windy bike course and the swim was the hardest swim I have done yet. Almost white cap conditions and it was a crowded race. Looking forward to Clearwater in July!

8mi Before Season Opener Tri

Great 8mi this afternoon. Was humid out there, but I took it slower the first 5mi. Picked up the pace a little the last 3mi, felt great and was able to sprint to the finish. Now 2 days rest before Graniteman Buffalo!
